The Process
- Initial Contact: - Ready to start a build or have any questions? Use our Contact Us page to start the process!
- Design: - When you are ready to move forward, we will set up a call to define the specifics of your build and develop a design for your Sauna. This may take several meetings for a custom project, but we work to make this process as simple as possible.
- Contract: - When we have a design that meets your needs, we will send you a final design and contract for you to sign. Once we have that and a 10% down payment, the fun will start.
- Build: - If we are not contracted to build on site, we will build the sauna at one of our shops either in Minnesota or Michigan. We will stay in contact with you throughout the build to make sure that the final product meets your expectations.
- Getting the site ready: - There will be things that you need to do to prepare for your sauna delivery. We will be there with you every step of the way, but here are a few common items you will need to think about: - Foundation - Prepare your foundation. Once you have chosen the perfect location for your sauna, you will need to prepare its foundation. There are many options with the most common being decking, a poured cement slab, or 6-8 inches of gravel (or crushed rock) boarded by treated 4x6. - Electrical - We will need an electrical hookup for the unit lights. If you are purchasing a sauna with an electric heater, consult with an electrician to make sure the process goes smoothly. We to share heater manuals and installation guides.
- Delivery: - There are several options for delivery once your sauna is complete. Typically we will ship via 3rd party companies. Prices vary depending on State. Alternately, You can pickup your sauna from our warehouse in Lansing, Michigan. Coordinate date and time with a Timber Team Member. - Timber White Glove Delivery - A Timber team member will travel to your location to personally assist in installing, packing the heater, firing it up, and answer any questions you may have. This upgrade must be decided before the contract of purchase to accommodate dates and times.
- Installation: - Once the sauna is on location, you will need a crane and/or shed mover to place your sauna on top of the foundation. If you purchased an electric unit, you will need your electrician to hook the sauna up to the electrical box. Refer to the heater manual provided to pack the sauna rocks correctly into your heater.
- Sauna! - It is important to fire up the sauna 1-3 times before using it for an initial break in. This allows you to insure it is running properly.
